I feel so unready for Christmas this year, so many things I wanted to do and make for people...just not happening. I just have to remind myself that what is really important is the time we spend with our loved ones, family and friends...that is what is so lovely about Christmas. Not what you did or didn't make, or buy or finish decorating or how many cookies you baked...it's the time you took to be with the people who have given of themselves in your life.
So, here's to all of you who have been so wonderful and kind to me and my family, may you have a blessed and Merry Christmas!

Does everything have to have a picture...
When I look at some websites and blogs that are out there, or when I look at a lovely book with beautiful illustrations or pictures I realize that a picture is worth more than a thousand words. Pictures, colors, scenes are feelings, memories, laughter, tears...that's what a picture is to me. It's amazing how a certain scene, color or picture can give you a physical response.
I look at a picture of someone riding a horse through a field and it puts a smile on my face and gives me just a twinge of jealousy. I see a picture of a baby with little fat rolls and it gives me that wistful, kind of "I miss that" feeling about my own babies (who are now 11 and 14...sigh). A picture of a luscious dark chocolate anything and my mouth waters and my head starts spinning...do I have the ingredients to make that?
I don't have a picture for my post today, no, nothing. I wonder if anyone really enjoys reading it with no picture...what if I were to veto pictures on my blog, I think it would be difficult to follow, even for me.

Snow
We woke up to snow on this lovely Sabbath morning. The snow is gone now, but I was just thinking about that feeling you get when you go to bed and there is no snow and you wake up to all that beautiful white stuff covering the ground. Why do I get so excited? I don't especially like driving in it because where we live no one is prepared for such things. The last time we had snow and ice it was horrible because it stays on the roads, no snow plows, de-icers or anything...so you are skating all over until you get to a main road. And yet, I am still so happy when I see the snow coming down, it makes me feel like a little kid again.

Puppy Watch: Night 10
Even though I am starting to feel pretty exhausted I sure am getting a lot done in the early morning hours! I just put up my Gypsy Patisserie site and I'm thinking it looks pretty good. Well, I like it anyways, and that's what counts. Although my eyelids are beginning to feel like sand paper and I am so hungry I am going to have to make another piece of that delicious toast I had the other night.
The puppies are doing so well, the little girl is really quite huge! Their little squanched up faces, oh, to die for.

Catching Up
This morning I am trying to get caught up on some things...one of them is not sleep; however, I did get an entire load of horse poo scooped and dumped. As I was heading back to the barn after dumping my load (he, he, he) I heard the strangest noise and looked behind me and it appears that the trailer that we got over 6 years ago for around $100.00 has finally given in to our relentless torture...
Day 8: Early Morning Puppy Watch
I am so hungry! I recently received a lovely jar of strawberry jam...it is devine. Yes, I am eating at 3 in the morning, yes it is fattening and yes, that is Great Harvest whole wheat, yummy bread.

Puppy Watch: The Night Shift
My shift is till 4am, the puppies are one week old now and Lady is getting the hang of it. Still, I'm nervous to leave them alone for too long. Luckily, we have the "dog room" just off the kitchen, it's all open, no doors, so we can see and hear everything. I did put up some baby gates which work nicely.

Finally got my Blog going!!
I am so happy to finally have the time to get my blog going. Between having new Mastiff puppies, getting a new mare and driving kids all over the universe, I thought I would never get around to it. Let's not mention that it is 3:44 exactly and I am still in my pajamas.
